The walking path is scheduled to be repaired + resurfaced next week (5/9-13/22). The exact days will depend upon weather. Please avoid the park while under construction, and remain off the pathway until signs are removed / the area is no longer roped off.

One of the large pines at the entrance of the park will be taken down this week (5/2/22), to ensure its roots don't destroy the new path.

As we work to keep the neighborhood more connected and informed (and save money on mailings / postage), a new bulletin board will be posted at the entrance to the park. This will serve as a central location (offline) to find neighborhood information / upcoming events.

We are all very excited for the long-overdo project. Please remember to be respectful of the park. Don't leave trash, and pick up trash if you see it. If dogs are playing, keep them away from the path and other people. We want to make this an enjoyable space for all our neighbors.

Hope to see you all for First Friday happy hour at the park this week (5/6/22)!

Walking Path

As many of you know, the walking path at the park is in desperate need of repairs. The project has been in the works for some time, but delayed due to COVID and the work on the storm water management area.

Finally, we're excited to announce the walking path will be repaved this year! Prior to resurfacing, the large pine at the entrance to the park will be removed (as the roots will continue to tear up the pathway).

Regarding the old tree line that the neighboring farm pulled out ... Jeff, from Lawns by Jeff, has volunteered to seed the area so that will become additional green space.

Storm Water Management Area

You may have noticed this week, the County was putting their final touches on the storm water management project - pulling the fence, seeding, etc. While the County funded this project, the neighborhood is responsible for maintenance and / or repairs moving forward. With repairs starting at $10,000, please be mindful of this space.

When looking down on the area from the park - the area to the right of the rock wall filter is the most fragile and should be avoided entirely. This is the sand filter with vents sticking out of the ground.

In the area to the left of the rock wall filter, light foot traffic is not a problem. However, bicycles, running (dogs and human), or anything that will upturn / indent the grass is prohibited throughout the entire storm water management area.

Looking forward to warm weather in our beautiful park!

On the second Thursday of each month, the neighborhood Board will meet to discuss neighborhood business. All Copperfield residents are welcome to attend.

To add a topic to the agenda, email it to copperfieldmd@gmail.com at least 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting. In attempts to keep meetings to a reasonable length, the Board has discretion in creating the agenda.

Meetings will be capped at approximately one hour and will take place at our neighborhood park. In the event of inclement weather, a zoom link will be posted here the morning of the meeting.

After the meeting, minutes will be posted to the website and emailed to all newsletter subscribers each month. To sign up, visit www.copperfieldmd.com.

Please check the calendar for all dates and details.
